Sandcastle
Oil on Canvas
16x20

When we lived in Florida, we often took day trips to the beach, usually to either Clearwater Beach or to Treasure Island. No matter how many times we went, we always built a sandcastle or two. There's just something about the soothing sound of the ocean and the overwhelming vastness of the sandy beach that brings out the cooperative spirit in my children. This is actually three of my children as they are just getting started on one of the many sandcastles we've left on the beaches of Treasure Island.

Garden Tea Party

This is one of my favorite pieces. It is actually a study based off the work of accomplished artist, Robert Coombs, in Arizona.

Indian Paintbrushes
Oil on Canvas
16x20

I have a weakness for babies and wildflowers, and when I saw this photo of my cousin's baby sitting in a field of wildflowers, I knew I had to try my hand at it. This is Laeni. She lives in Texas where the Indian Paintbrushes grow wild and free.

A Mother's Heart
Oil on Canvas
11x14

I love to read, and every once in awhile, I come across a book that really makes me think. The Real Mary by Scot McKnight was one such book. I knew before I even finished it that I would have to paint the image it had created in my mind's eye. I can only imagine what Mary must have thought and felt as she, like any other mother, was compelled to protect her Protector.

Ballerina
Oil on Canvas
20x24

When I was looking to do a ballerina series, I came across a photograph of this girl and thought she was just beautiful. I loved the way her white dress just popped under the red lights of the stage.

Raindrops are Falling...

A child, an umbrella, a light rain.
No rules, no shoes, pure fun. It doesn't get any better that that.

Katie and Reese
Oil on Canvas
16x20

As the title indicates, this is Katie and her sweet baby girl Reese.
I painted this as a gift for Katie, and it now hangs in her home.
This little girl and her momma have taught me things
I never realized I didn't know.
